Indramat MAC motor models
MAC model letters identify distinct motor-length and torque packages inside a frame. Choose the series printed on the tag, then open the A, B, C or D model page before matching the rest of the type code.
Match the complete nameplate, including every suffix. Ask Litco for current photos of the unit being quoted.

Choose the motor length printed after the frame
The A, B, C or D suffix is part of the model identity, not a minor option. Later letters generally indicate a longer motor and a larger torque package within the same frame, but the complete nameplate remains necessary because winding, cooling, feedback, centering, shaft and brake choices can still differ.

Fields that separate one MAC motor from another
A clear tag photo turns a broad family search into a configuration check. Preserve the complete code and verify these six groups before substitution.
Complete type code
Capture every letter, digit and dash. MAC090 identifies a frame group, not an interchangeable motor.
Frame, length and winding
These fields narrow the mechanical size, torque package, winding arrangement and nominal-speed option.
Cooling arrangement
The code can distinguish natural convection from surface cooling and identify fan voltage and position.
Feedback configuration
Tachometer feedback, incremental encoder provisions and additional feedback options must match the application.
Shaft and holding brake
Photograph the shaft end and record the keyway, seal and brake configuration before choosing a replacement.
Connector direction
Power connections may face side A, side B, left or right, which can matter inside a tight machine.
Compact frame, configuration still matters

MAC motor questions
Before Litco checks a unit
These answers cover the identification details that most often slow down a legacy motor match.
Is the MAC model number enough to match a motor?+
No. A frame such as MAC090 has multiple length, winding, feedback, shaft, brake, cooling and connector combinations. Litco checks the complete nameplate code before confirming a replacement.
What should I send for a MAC shelf check?+
Send a straight-on photo of the complete tag, the shaft and flange, the connectors and the whole motor. Include the machine model, axis and failure symptom if repair is being considered.
Can Litco check a MAC code that is not listed online?+
Yes. The published list is a family guide, not a live count of every warehouse unit. Call or email the full code for a current stock, condition and configuration check.
Can a failed MAC motor be repaired instead of replaced?+
Litco supports both paths. A technician can compare repair with an available replacement after reviewing the motor, complete code and failure symptoms.
Model groups and option fields checked against the original planning manual.
Manual values describe available series configurations, not proof that every option can be combined or is currently on Litco’s shelf.
